Hello & welcome to my world, the fuel for my life in arts and music is to project as much good energy to everyone I come in contact with as possible, it is indeed a little different goal as the standard, but, it fills my heart with the joy of a life with purpose. Spreading love through song & art is my ultimate goal.
Music & I
Venezuelan born Carla Gonzalez-Casanova is a celebrated vocalist and visual artist who is known for her powerful vocals and energetic performances. One of the G.T.A.’s most active world music performers, Carla sings for thousands of people annually through her work as a front woman with Latintrain and Wharpo, two of Toronto’s popular Latin Musical Acts. Singing in Spanish and English, Carla’s musical career has taken her across the globe to stages in Japan, Trinidad, Spain and Latin America.
Carla’s engaging performances get audiences up and dancing, making her one of the most exciting performers on Toronto’s music scene. Her sound features a melting pot of Latin rhythms such as Bolero, Cha-Cha, Son, Salsa, Cumbia with a pinch of jazz. With a busy performance schedule with over 150 dates a year, Carla has graced major stages in Canada including Celebration Square, The Rose Theatre Brampton, and Young Dundas Square. Carla is deeply committed to her community and performs actively at festivals including Carabram, Carassauga, Coubourgh Latin Festival, Panamerican Jazz Festival, Inti Raimy and many more!

Carla Gonzalez was born in Caracas -Venezuela but left her native land at the early age of 3 to travel the world with he parents, this gave her an opportunity to explore and learn a lot about cultures and colours which will come into play when she started picking up drawing and painting at an early age, her first drawing class took place in Hong Kong, Design & Caribbean history in Trinidad and Tobago, back to Caracas for Art Fundamentals and finally she earned her Fine Arts Diploma from Toronto School of Arts in 1997, in the following years she worked as a Graphic Designer in Colour Vision Inc. and after she went on to one of her favourite journeys teaching art to kids and adults alike. Her favourite subjects for art are women & mother nature, her mediums go from pencil crayon, ink, acrylics & oils. She believes life is a collective journey and is her intention to make it a colourful one for her and those who she is blessed to share it with. Carla currently works as an art instructor at Visual Arts Mississauga, Hispanic Canadian Arts and The Art Gallery of Mississauga amongst others.
